The company that owns major outdoors brand Vango has cut its ties with a boot brand and a sock firm.
AMG Group said it had ended its licensing arrangement with Anatom and Teko, to concentrate on its core markets.
The Port Glasgow-based company said its agreements with Mountain Sports, owners of Anatom boots, and Teko, were ended by mutual agreement after four years of a distribution arrangement.
The agreement ended at the end of March. AMG said the companies will continue to work together for three months to implement a smooth transition and minimise any disruption to their customer base.
Stephen Newlands, AMG Group chief executive, said: “It’s always sad when a relationship with great brands such as Anatom and Teko comes to an end.
“However, our focus as we navigate through these difficult and unprecedented times is changing, and the board has decided our growth opportunities in the core camping and outdoor markets need our full attention and resource focus.
“We would like to take the opportunity to acknowledge and thank Gordon Fraser and his team for the assistance and support they have provided over the last four years; they have been great partners and friends to AMG Group and we wish them success in the future.”
Gordon Fraser, Mountain Sports managing director, said: “While I’m disappointed to be ending our relationship with the team at AMG, we are all in agreement this decision is right for both parties, and presents new opportunities for both Anatom and Teko.
“Our respective strategic goals for the coming years took us in different directions, so we part on the best of terms, and thank AMG Group for their stewardship of the brands over the last four years.
“I look forward to reigniting relationships with our retail partners, and further developing both brands in the UK and beyond.”
