A Lake District walker was taken to hospital by rescuers after getting into difficulties.
The casualty was one of six walkers who were struggling with fatigue near Ennerdale youth hostel after a long day on the fells.
Cockermouth Mountain Rescue Team was called out about 10.30pm on Monday.
A team spokesperson said: “Given the apparent nature of the incident, eight team members were dispatched.
“They quickly located the group where it became apparent that one of the six was demonstrating more serious symptoms. An ambulance was requested, but due to availability it was quicker for the team to transport the casualty directly to Whitehaven A&E.”
Team leader Andrew McNeil added: “The callout was an example of how quickly a situation can change.
“The team responded to the casualty’s symptoms quickly and effectively, and we wish her a speedy recovery.”
The 4¾-hour rescue, the team’s 37th of the year, involved eight Cockermouth MRT volunteers.
