A hen party and a couple celebrating their engagement were among thousands of people who helped light up a Lakeland fell.
Hundreds more were on hand to watch the fifth Lakeland Festival of Light on Saturday.
A line of walkers used their headtorches to illuminate the ridge of Cat Bells, with a team of photographers capturing the event.
The festival, organised by Matt Le Voi of Lakeland Mountain Guides, raised more than £15,000 for Lake District Mountain Rescue Search Dogs, which trains and supports handlers and their animals.
Walkers took to the 451m (1,480ft) peak overlooking Derwent Water, despite an arctic chill.
Mr Le Voi said: “We were almost overwhelmed on the mountain but, as always, with the support of the fantastic marshals and help from the participants we got everyone in place.
“After that it was over to the work of our talented event photographers who yet again worked their magic perfectly.”
The event attracted people from all over the UK, with some were celebrating birthdays and anniversaries. There was even a hen party on the mountain and an engagement.
Participants made a donation to take part and there was also a raffle to raise funds for the charity.
Mr Le Voi said: “The event will no doubt return for 2020 but for now the organising team would like to thank everyone who made the event happen this year, from raffle prize donors, cake bakers to the participants themselves.”
Over the past four years the Lakeland Festival of Light series has raised more than £47,000 for charity. Donations can be made via a JustGiving page.
