A boy was rescued from a Lake District fell after fainting while on an expedition.
The 12-year-old collapsed at the top of Grisedale, close to the Brothers’ Parting Stone and Grisedale Tarn.
Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team was called out about 4pm on Tuesday at the request of police.
A team spokesperson said: “The young man was part of an organised well equipped expedition group who were due to camp at Grisedale Tarn having set off from a local outdoor centre.
“The two experienced instructors with the group raised the alarm and were able to look after the young man until the team arrived.
“The team treated the 12-year-old and then stretchered him off the fell to the waiting Land Rover ambulance for onward transport by North West Ambulance Service to Carlisle infirmary.”
The four-hour rescue involved 14 volunteers from Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team.
On Saturday, the team was in action on two callouts to aid walkers.
The rescuers were alerted shortly before 11am, when a walker injured her ankle near Aira Force while taking part in a group charity walk of the Ullswater Way.
The spokesperson said: “A team member who happened to be nearby on a walk was on scene within minutes.
“The rest of the team managed to get very close to the location by Land Rover. The casualty was treated for her ankle injury and then evacuated by Land Rover to Dockray where she was transferred to an ambulance for onward hospital treatment.”
Later in the day, a 59-year-old man slipped and injured his ankle while walking with friends on Hartsop Above How, and was unable to continue.
The team was called out at 2.30pm and went to the man’s aid. He was treated on the fell for a suspected broken ankle before being stretchered from the hill to a waiting ambulance.
