The founder of a West Country brand has pledged to donate £10 to a bird conservation charity from each sale of a jacket aimed at birdwatchers and photographers.
Country Innovation’s Avocet has six generously sized pockets for essential gear and is waterproof, windproof and breathable.
The Avocet is named after the emblem of the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds, which receives donations from the jacket sales.
Country Innovation was founded by Maria Chilvers. She said: “We are incredibly proud of this partnership and want to demonstrate our support as we know how vital their work is to us and our customers.”
The Avocet is designed to be roomy to go on over clothing layers, and has articulated underarms for free movement when using a camera, and has a detachable hood. The fabric is soft-feel to minimise rustling that might disturb birds or be picked up if filming.
The men’s RSPB Avocet Jacket is available in sizes S-XL at £195. XXL is £205 and XXXL £215. The Lady RSPB Avocet Jacket is available in sizes S-XL at £195.
Country Innovation was established in 1996 by Somerset-based entrepreneur Maria Chilvers. Working in a buying office for outdoor products, she saw a gap in the market for well made, practical, specialist clothing for bird and wildlife enthusiasts.
