Rescuers had to leave celebrations to mark their headquarters refurbishment after a call for help from a family lost on a Yorkshire Dales fell.
Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue Association was hosting an open day at its Grassington base on Saturday when its members were called out to aid the group on Great Whernside, above Kettlewell.
The team was alerted about 12.50pm when the walkers got lost in bad weather on the 704m (2,310ft) hill.
A team spokesperson said: “While the team were being deployed the police contacted the family and confirmed their location was on the summit, where they were told to stay put and wait for assistance.
“Team members soon located the casualties and after warming them, they were escorted back to the team Land Rovers and transported back to Kettlewell.”
