A walker was rescued from a Peak District moor after getting lost.
Two rescue teams and three search dogs joined the operation to find the woman above the upper Derwent Valley on Thursday.
Edale Mountain Rescue Team was called out about 3.40pm at the request of South Yorkshire Police when the woman called for help after becoming disoriented in poor weather.
Team members were joined by colleagues from the Woodhead team and Search and Rescue Dogs Association handlers and their animals.
An Edale MRT spokesperson said: “With temperatures around freezing, she decided to call for assistance.
“Further information was gained from her next of kin, while team search managers responded to Fairholmes visitors centre.
“Her car was confirmed at Kings Tree. Information we had was she had visited Margery Hill on her journey, but then lost her bearings due to the weather.
“Thankfully she was located by one of our team sections, safe and well. She was walked back to the trackside before being returned to her vehicle.”
As Edale team members were returning home from the search, a team vehicle stopped to liaise with police officers who were conducting a search for a missing man close to Lady Canning’s Plantation on the eastern fringe of the national park.
The team spokesperson said: “Our team leader attended and following discussion with the police search adviser, a search area was agreed, concentrating on the Porter Clough and Porter Brook areas of Sheffield.
“Twelve team members including two of the three search dogs from the previous callout did a u-turn and headed for the next rendezvous. Following extensive searches of the areas, team members completed the search area at 1.45am before returning home for an overdue meal and some well earned rest.
“Police enquiries continue regarding the missing male.”

04 February 2017There is a great free app from Ordnance Survey called OS LOCATE. It works on most smartphones and does not require a phone signal. It uses the phone's satnav (GPS) to give you your location in a Grid Reference. Ideal to help you find yourself on a map or for telling Mountain Rescue where you are to 6 figures (100m but still pretty useful!).
You obviously have to load it up and install on your phone before you go out but why not it is free! Pass the word around!
(Keep your phone on low power settings and insulated in cold weather in your sack and have a spare charger pack and lead if you can).
You can do your bit to help the MR teams by finding yourself or at least giving them a good fix on you if you need them.
