A walker was stretchered from the Peak District’s highest hill after suffering a knee injury.

Kinder Mountain Rescue Team was called out on Saturday and was joined by colleagues from the Glossop team in the operation to bring the woman to safety from Kinder Scout.

A Kinder MRT spokesperson said: “She was located at the top of William Clough and stretchered back to the roadhead, before being taken to hospital.”

The rescue involved 16 Kinder MRT and Glossop team members and lasted three hours.
