A woman was rescued after injuring herself when she jumped from the top of a waterfall in the Brecon Beacons.
Western Beacons Mountain Search and Rescue Team was called out on Tuesday evening to the scene at Sgwd Gwladus on the edge of the national park, north of Pontneddfechan.
Dyfed-Powys Police contacted the team after the Welsh Ambulance Service hazardous area response team requested the volunteers’ help.
The Central Beacons and the Brecon Mountain Rescue Teams also took part in the rescue, after the woman injured her leg when she landed badly in a pool after jumping from the top of the cataract.
The rescue teams worked alongside the Hart team to treat the injured woman, who was stretchered from the scene and taken to hospital for further treatment. Rescue team members were stood down shortly after midnight.
A spokesperson for the Western team said: “It never ceases to be a source of amazement to those we help that we are all volunteers.
“To have over 20 rescuers on-scene very late on a midweek night when it’s a working day the following day serves to highlight yet again the dedication of those involved in mountain rescue both here in South Wales and right across the UK.
“We’d like to express our best wishes to the casualty for a speedy recovery.”
