A major search is continuing for a walker who is missing in the Cairngorms.
Police are appealing for any walkers and mountaineers who may have seen Glasgow man James Robertson to contact them.
More than 80 mountain rescue team volunteers have been joined by search dogs and a Coastguard helicopter in the search for Mr Robertson, who was last seen on Monday.
Police said the 61-year-old is a keen and experienced hillwalker. A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “He was due to return to Glasgow on Friday and when he failed to return home his family contacted police.”
Mr Robertson, known as Jim, is believed to have stayed at the Bob Scott Memorial Hut in Glen Lui during the week. Braemar Mountain Rescue Team appealed to anyone who has been out on the hills around the bothy and might have seen the lone walker to contact police.
He is described as 5ft 10ins (1.78m) tall, medium build, with short grey hair and wearing glasses. He is believed to be carrying a large rucksack.
The police spokesperson said: “Mr Robertson’s family is understandably concerned for him and just want to know he is safe and well.
“Air and foot searches have been carried out and will continue to be carried out in an effort to locate Mr Robertson and if anyone has seen him or has any information as to his whereabouts, please contact officers at Cathcart Police Office on 101 as soon as possible.”
Mr Robertson’s daughter Lynn Strachan posted a message on Facebook, saying: “My family and I are distraught and are desperate for everyone in the Cairngorms area to please look out for him.”
