Snugpak's Softie range now boasts of its Yorkshire origins

A UK sleeping bag manufacturer has revamped its original range, which now boasts its proud northern origins.

Snugpak’s Softie range was first introduced in 1988 and is still manufactured in the West Yorkshire town of Silsden.

The company is one of the few that still manufacture sleeping bags in Europe, and each Softie now has a ‘made in Yorkshire’ logo.

Snugpak has pegged its prices for the revamped range, which has new features across the collection, including a superior anti-snag zip baffle and internal mesh pocket.

The company said: “The updated collection comprises six Softie bags, which are made with top of the range materials, including Softie Premier insulation which is exclusive to Snugpak.

“This premium insulation is the result of Snugpak’s research and development which provides a finer, softer and more durable insulation. The Paratex performance outers and wicking linings are extremely breathable ensuring a warm and dry night’s sleep.

“The new collection has a sleeping bag for every season and every budget, from the Softie 3 Merlin, a single construction bag which is ideal for hot climates and UK summer, weighing just 900g, to the brand new Antarctica RE, Snugpak’s most extreme performance bag, which provides warmth and comfort in temperatures as low as -20C.”

Each sleeping bag is supplied with a compression pack and a complimentary Snuggy Pillow, a lightweight and compact pillow that stuffs into itself for easy storage, yet provides excellent support for the head and neck. It is filled with the same quality insulation as the Softie sleeping bags.

The revamped Snugpak Softie range will be available in shops in the next couple of weeks.
