A walker was airlifted from Great Gable after breaking her ankle.
The woman, from East Yorkshire, was walking with her partner on the mountain when she injured her leg.
Keswick Mountain Rescue Team was alerted and the team set off in two vehicles to Seathwaite and checked on the availability of the air ambulance as members realised it would be some time before they reached the walker.
The Great North Air Ambulance’s Pride of Cumbria flew to the scene and was able to land within 50m of the injured woman.
A GNAA Service spokesperson said: “Once on scene the aircrew doctor and paramedic team assessed and treated a female for a fractured ankle before moving her to the helicopter for a short flight to hospital in Carlisle.
Keswick MRT members remained on standby until the helicopter was airborne and then stood down.
