Three mountain rescuers will have a trip to Buckingham Palace after being recognised in the Queen’s Birthday Honours.
All three long-serving volunteers of mountain rescue teams have been awarded the MBE.
John Hulse, team leader of Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue Organisation, will receive his honour for services to mountain rescue in Wales, England and Northern Ireland.
Dr Geoff Bowen, a member of Langdale Ambleside MRT, received his award for services to the team.
Stephen Hilditch, team leader of Derby Mountain Rescue Team, was recognised for services to mountain rescue in the Peak District and Scouting in Derbyshire.
