A mountain rescue team will hold its main sponsored fundraiser this weekend.
Aberdeen Mountain Rescue Team’s sponsored walk takes place on the Glen Tanar estate on Saturday.
Members of the public can tackle the 23km (14-mile) route to help raise cash for the volunteer team.
A team spokesperson said: “Although Glen Tanar is well known to walkers in the Aberdeen and Deeside area this year’s route will give walkers a chance to experience a number of different aspects of the estate and the area around the main glen.
“The route is not particularly difficult although it does need to be treated with respect and walkers should ensure that they have adequate footwear and clothing to cope with the conditions.
“As always walkers will be treated to a well earned cup of tea and something fine to eat on their return to the visitor centre. This year will mark the 45th sponsored walk which the team and [Aberdeen & St John Mountain Rescue] Association have run and we hope that you are able to join us on Saturday 6 June for what we are sure will be a great day out.”
More details are on the team’s website.
