Rescuers and police have renewed appeals for sightings of an experienced hillwalker missing in the Highlands
Eric Cyl was reported missing about 8.20pm on Saturday after going walking in the Ring of Steall in Lochaber.
A search over two days has failed to find the 62-year-old English walker. Members of Lochaber Mountain Rescue Team were joined on Monday by a team from RAF Lossiemouth and Search and Rescue Dogs Association members.
The previous day, Lochaber and Glencoe MRTs searched the area, helped by Sarda dogs and the Inverness Coastguard helicopter. Monday’s search was undertaken in bad weather and at times on tough terrain in the Mamores without success.
Police again appealed for information about Mr Cyl, described as stocky build and with short grey hair.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Mr Cyl, who is an experienced hillwalker, is walking alone and aided by two walking poles.
“Anyone who has seen Mr Cyl on the hill or may have been out walking in the Ben Nevis, Glen Nevis or Mamores area and who may have seen someone fitting Mr Cyl’s description are urged to contact Police Scotland on 101.”
The missing walker was last seen setting off on Saturday morning, wearing a light grey jacket and dark trousers.
