A woman was airlifted from England’s third highest mountain after falling and injuring herself.
The 28-year-old from Stratford-upon-Avon in Warwickshire fell into Brown Cove on Helvellyn yesterday, suffering head and arm injuries.
Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team was called out and the Great North Air Ambulance flew to the scene about 5.30pm.
The woman was treated at the scene before being airlifted from the mountain to an ambulance, which took her to Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle for further treatment.
A Great North Air Ambulance spokesperson said her injuries were not life-threatening.
