Bridgedale, best known for its range of socks for walkers, is heading up a new range with the introduction unisex hats aimed at outdoors fans.
The Northern Ireland-based company’s new spring-summer hat range has four different styles, from ultra-lightweight to chunky.
Bridgedale said: “The weather in the UK is unpredictable at best and out in the mountains, warm and sunny weather can quickly turn to cold and grey conditions, so being prepared in the great outdoors is essential, even when the winter snows have gone.”
This chunky knit hat uses Bridgedale’s MerinoFusion technology to ensure warmth and comfort during chillier days on the hill or nights on the campsite. “Fusing merino wool with technical fibres, MerinoFusion perfectly balances insulation with the highest levels of comfort,” the company said. “A full fleece lining provides ‘next to the skin’ softness.”
The hats are available in brown, purple and grey at £20.
The Chunky
The midweight collection: Pulse, Bigfoot, Heart and Flurry, has classic outdoor beanies, suitable for long days on the hill or chilly coastal evening walks. This range again uses MerinoFusion technology. Other features include a double-layer knit and cosy fleece earband and costs £19.
The Flip Reversible has a soft knit, twin layer, giving you two hats in one.
Bridgedale said: “With a reversible design, you can decide which way to wear, either subtle with a highlight stripe or bold and colourful. No one will notice it’s the same hat. Ideal for walking, hiking and general leisure activities.
Again using MerinoFusion, the range retails at £18.
Bridgedale Duo Lite
The Duo Lite hat is a double layer, ultra-lightweight, fast drying and reversible model, ideal for high-octane activities such as running, cycling and climbing.
Bridgedale said it can also be worn comfortably under a helmet. Duo Lite is made from drirelease fabric with FreshGuard, a blend of synthetic and natural fibres which work together to quickly move moisture and reduce drying time. The company said FreshGuard virtually neutralises odour for the life of the hat. The range sells for £20.00
