Record-breaking mountaineer Alan Hinkes will appear at a London outdoors show this month.
The Yorkshire-based climber, the only Briton to have summited all the world’s 8,000m mountains, will share his experiences at the Telegraph Outdoor & Adventure Show.
Hinkes, who climbed Everest, K2 and Kanchenjunga among his expeditions to the 14 highest peaks, will be on the Fjӓllrӓven stand at the show, in London’s Docklands.
A spokesperson for the outdoor brand said: “Alan is one of just 12 people to ever achieve this feat.
“Offering an insider’s view of these epic ascents, Alan’s lectures will take listeners through his experiences from the successes to the near misses. From base camp to mountain summits, Alan will share his own experience of the beauty, harshness and danger of the world’s highest mountains.
“Alan will be speaking every day on the Outdoor Photography PhotoBox stage which is sponsored by Fjӓllrӓven. He will also be available to meet show visitors in person on the Fjӓllrӓven stand.”
The Telegraph Outdoor & Adventure Travel Show will take place from 12 to 15 February at ExCel in London. Fjӓllrӓven has a special ticket offer: quote ‘FJ15′ for tickets from £13 plus a booking fee.
Booking and other details are on the show’s website.

06 February 2015I wish that someone would set the record straight one way or the other according to the official records Alan is only credited with 13 of the 14 8,000ers as his ascent of Choy Oyo isnt recognised.
The explanation from the supposed official records states that
"Alan states that he reached the summit plateau in a whiteout and then made for the highest point in the vicinity. Unfortunately this is not recignised as an official summit".
Personally I want the World to acknowledge that Alan is one of the elite few to have bagged all the 8000ers and give him the official recognition that he deserves

06 February 2015Don't nit-pickers make your blood boil? I too read Alan's account in his 8,000ers book and as far as I'm concerned he's summited all 14. End of!
