Police have confirmed that the man who died after being discovered by rescuers on Helvellyn was Michael Flanagan.
Mr Flanagan, 45, of London, was found after a massive search involving more than 60 mountain rescue team members.
He was pronounced dead after being brought from the foot of the headwall on the mountain. The search was sparked when he was reported missing after saying he was going for a walk.
Cumbria Constabulary said there were no suspicious circumstances. The coroner has been informed.
