An injured walker was stretchered from a Lake District fell by rescuers as night fell.
Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team was called out about 3.10pm on Sunday as they finished a six-hour training session in Grisedale.
The man was walking near Bleaberry Knott when he injured his ankle.
The team made their way to the injured walker and he was assessed and treated at the scene by the team’s doctor.
He was stretchered down to Deepdale by torchlight to a team Land Rover and was then transferred to an ambulance which took him to hospital in Kendal.
The 2½-hour rescue involved 12 volunteers from Patterdale MRT.
