The Osprey PackSizer app

Making sure you have the right size rucksack to fit your body is essential if you want your pack to be comfortable and carry its load properly.

Osprey has introduced what it claims is the world’s first digital pack-fitting tool.

Using a smartphone, you need someone to take a full-length picture of your body. You then mark your height on the image and locate the upper and lower torso points.

Then, using the free app, you can then view sizing results of every rucksack the California-based company produces.

The PackSizer software can also send you an email with the results if you’re OK with giving the company your contact details.

The app is available to download on both the Apple Store and Google Play by searching for Osprey PackSizer. More details are on the Osprey website.

The app comes in English, French or German versions.
