Police have named the man who fell to his death from Helvellyn on Friday.
Robert Pascoe, 24, from Liverpool, was walking with a companion when he fell 200m (650ft) from Striding Edge into Nethermost Cove.
A Cumbria Constabulary spokesperson said: “Patterdale Mountain Rescue attended and despite their best efforts he died.
“His family have been informed and the file has been passed to the coroner. There are no suspicious circumstances.”
In tributes posted on grough’s original story about the incident, he was named as a senior aircraftman in RAF Cosford’s field gun team which takes part in a competition to manhandle a large field gun across obstacles.

08 October 2013Rob, you beautiful mischievous little man! You will never be replaced, as you know. you were the young, clever, handsome, cheeky, funny, loyal, wise and annoying one that we all loved the most! Ha. You were literally our best mate. You'll never be gone to us, and you'll be frozen in our memories as the young, fearless, laugh inspiring role model that you were and are. When I was in tough situations I used to think of what you would do, and I still will. I know you won't be asleep, you'll be the first man In history to play a prank on god! Ha. You'll be his right hand man.
See you again mate, no matter how long it takes.
We're all proud to have been called your friend, and I'll never run field gun along side a finer wheel man.
Over and out.

08 October 2013Robert. You weren't just my best mate, you were like the little brother I never had. A gentleman, role model, courageous and handsome young man. An inspiration to us all.
Whenever I found myself in the shit......which did seem to happen quite often, I'd always manage to get my head together and think right, what would Rob do.......9 times out of 10 you'd pull through for me mate.
The list of good times we've all had together is literally endless and now that your body is no longer with us it's our memories and stories that will let your legend live on.
It was an absolute pleasure to have been part of your journey and you literally couldn't have done anymore than what you did in the 24 amazing years you were here.
Sleep well my friend
Until we meet again
