A Lake District store is asking outdoor fans to donate their unwanted gear to help charity.
The Cotswold Outdoor shop in Ambleside is appealing for old outdoor and activity gear for its Donate 4 Life campaign.
The kit will then be collected by the nearest British Heart Foundation shop to re-sell.
The campaign is being co-ordinated by sustainability organisation Explore RED.
The scheme at Ambleside began last week and will continue for six weeks.
A spokesperson for the store said: “We are really excited to be involved in this important initiative and to raise money for the local branch of such a fantastic charity.
“Because of the quality of the brands we stock we know that outdoor kit lasts and lasts, so this is a great opportunity for our active customers to donate what they no longer want, come into store and help raise money for a fantastic charity.”
Karen O’Donoghue, the BHF’s national stock-generation manager said: “The British Heart Foundation shop in Bowness is delighted to be working with Cotswold Outdoor to generate bags of unwanted outdoor clothing and help raise much needed funds.
“The garments are usually of good quality and may still have plenty of life left in them and need not end up in landfill.
“We really hope that customers of Cotswold Outdoor in Ambleside will join the campaign and support the UK’s number one heart charity in our fight against heart disease.”
Cotswold’s staff said they will accept all clothing, footwear or outdoors equipment provided it is in re-saleable condition.
