A walker was airlifted from a Torridon mountain after falling and injuring himself.
The 79-year-old fell while on Liathach and both Torridon and Kintail Mountain Rescue Teams went to the man’s aid after being alerted about 2.35pm yesterday, Tuesday.
A Sea King search and rescue helicopter from RAF Lossiemouth also flew to the scene on the 1,055m (3,461ft) mountain.
After treatment, the walker was airlifted to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness for further treatment.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “His condition is described as non-life threatening.”

15 May 2013I always thought that Liathach was in Scotland and NOT England and Wales....

15 May 2013Got to agree with you there Mick. Can't see anything in our story that suggests otherwise.

15 May 2013I agree too - can't see any Welsh connection in the name Liathach. I also don't believe you can see Liathach from the top of Snaefell on the Isle of Man.
