Outdoor fans are being urged to go to a car boot sale with a difference – boots are on sale.
Proceeds from the outdoor gear kit fair in Llanberis later this month will go to the town’s mountain rescue team.
The team is one of Britain’s biggest, with Wales’s highest mountain Snowdon in its patch.
Two similar sales were held last year, and the team is repeating the event to help raise cash for its activities.
A Llanberis Mountain Rescue Team spokesperson said: “The event isn’t your standard muddy field affair.
“Our pitches are within the very large car park area of The Heights bar and kitchen at the centre of Llanberis itself.
“This is a great opportunity to clear out your old and unused kit – to make way for more. Or come along and grab some bargains: anything from brand-new mountaineering boots, rucksacks, ice-axes, tents, freeride ski sets and even downhill mountain bikes.
“It can all be found here and you will be supporting a good cause at the same time.
“There will also be mountain rescue team members at hand to answer any questions relating to mountain safety and tell you a bit more about how the rescue team works; hot and cold drinks and even a barbecue, weather permitting.”
The fair will take place on Sunday 26 May during the bank holiday weekend.
Pitches cost £10 each for sellers, with all cash going to the team and can be booked by email.

13 May 2013May I recommend this event? Any reasonable way to raise cash for Mountain Rescue is to be applauded. If you go to the sale and do not buy anything please make a donation. You never know when you may need their help. All members of the team are volunteers - the least we, as climbers, or walkers, can do is to put a few pounds in the bucket.
Best wishes to you all
