Police are asking walkers and mountain bikers for help after a major search failed to find a missing man who may be in the Clwydian Range.

More than 40 volunteers, including members of North East Wales Search and Rescue, joined the hunt for Andrew James Pae, who has not been seen since last Tuesday.

Mr Pae’s car, a blue Vauxhall Astra Envoy registration number DK04 XWN, was found on Saturday at the lower car park near the foot of Moel Famau at Loggerheads.

A concerned member of the public contacted police at 11.30am after making the find.

Mr Pae, 35, of Buckley, Flintshire, left a building site in Congleton, Cheshire, and has not been seen since.

Inspector Andy Jones of North Wales Police said: “After an extensive search no trace was found of Mr Pae.

“We and search team experts from the North East Wales Search and Rescue need further help from the public, particularly walkers or mountain bikers, who may have seen Andrew so we can focus further searches.”

Andrew’s father John Pae expressed his gratitude to all those trying to find his son.

He is appealing to anyone who may have information or may have seen the vehicle, which had a distinctive ladder attached to the roof, to come forward.

Andrew Pae is described between 6ft and 6ft 2in (183cm to 188cm) tall, of medium build and has straight collar-length mousey-coloured hair. He has a full brown beard and blue eyes.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police immediately on 101.
