Police are warning the main road through the Moffat Hills is closed following subsidence.
The A708 through Moffat Dale is impassable beyond the Grey Mare’s Tail waterfall.
The subsidence has caused the carriageway to collapse, making the route dangerous. The closure is about 500m east of the Grey Mare’s Tail, which is on the most popular route to White Coomb, the 821m (2,694ft) corbett.
Police Scotland said the A708, which links Moffat with Selkirk, is likely to be closed for a considerable time.
