A father and his daughter were rescued after getting stuck on a snowy slope on a Lake District fell.

Coniston Mountain Rescue Team was called out at 3.50pm yesterday, Wednesday, and went to the aid of the pair.

The walkers were on the fellside between Blind Tarn and Buck Pike near Coniston.

A team spokesperson said: “The couple who were uninjured but cold were assisted to the ridge by team members and escorted down to the team’s base in Coniston.”
