Mountain rescuers are searching an area near the Glencoe ski centre on Meall a’ Bhùiridh after an avalanche.
The alarm was raised about 1.05pm today and Glencoe and Lochaber Mountain Rescue Teams are conducting the search, which is being co-ordinated by Northern Constabulary.
A Sea King helicopter from RAF Lossiemouth has also flown to the scene and is helping in the rescue near the Glencoe Mountain Resort.
Glencoe Mountain Resort said an experienced off-piste skier is missing outside the main ski area after being caught in a major avalanche.
The Glencoe Ski Patrol is helping mountain rescue teams in the search.
Police said no further details are available at present.

The search has been called of till first light tomorrow morning.
I don't think it is looking good to be honest but will keep my fingers crossed.
