A man has died on a mountain in the Scottish Highlands.

Police said the body of a 57-year-old man was recovered from the Streap area, north-east of Glenfinnan.

Lochaber Mountain Rescue Team was supported in the search and recovery of the man by a Sea King helicopter from RAF Lossiemouth.

A Northern Constabulary spokesperson said: “No further details will be released until next of kin have been notified.”

The 909m (2,982ft) peak Streap lies about 5km north-east of the Corryhully bothy, overlooking Gleann Cuìrnean.
