West Yorkshire brand Snugpak, best known for its sleeping bags, has extended its clothing range with the Elite Proximity jacket, a softshell that the company says is waterproof.
The lightweight Elite Proximity is described by Snugpak as a high-wicking softshell jacket with a stretchy fleece feel.
“Created using Aquabar, a breathable windproof and waterproof fabric, the Elite Proximity jacket provides outstanding protection from the elements,” the company said.
“The jacket provides plenty of storage space with two hip pockets, as well as a useful pocket on the sleeve for extra storage. It also has under-arm ventilation for additional wearer comfort when on the go.
“Available in olive or black, the Elite Proximity jacket is a must for those who want to stay warm, dry and comfortable this spring.”
Snugpak said the fabric itself has a hydrostatic head of more than 5,000mm but water may eventually get through the seams.
The fabric is 94 per cent polyester, 6 per cent spandex with a 100D bonded membrane. The jacket has 5,000mm breathability.
The Elite Proximity retails at £79.95. More details are on the Snugpak website.

07 March 2013Sounds like a bargain if it does what they say it does. Maybe they could give you one as a loan for the weekend to test in the Spring showers?
