A softshell jacket from Swedish brand Haglöfs has been named a gold winner at the giant ISPO trade show in Munich.
The Roca II Hood was one of the company’s four award winners at the event, which opened today.
The garment is a light, minimalist but durable soft shell jacket designed, says Haglöfs, for tough days on the mountain.
“The jacket is manufactured with a unique combination of two Gore Windstopper materials, and lined with the highest performance synthetic insulation material on the market, QuadFusion+,” a spokesperson said.
Haglöfs also won an ISPO award Winner for its; Vojd ABS 30, which the brand says is the market’s lightest avalanche safety backpack with ABS system.
It won another gold award for its Rando AS suit, a ski suit in three-layer Gore-Tex Active and an award for its Couloir Pro Jacket, a freeskiing jacket produced in three-layer Gore-Tex softshell with four-way stretch.
Nicolas Warchalowski, chief executive of Haglöfs, said: “In the lead up to autumn 2013, we will be launching our strongest collection ever, and the fact that we have already won important international prizes for an impressive four of our new products is invaluable proof of this.
“We are extremely proud and happy about being awarded this honour, and at the same time it gives us an extra boost to continue to develop world-class products.”
Haglöfs, which is owned by Japanese company Asics, has seen a 10 per cent average growth in its sales over the past five years and in 2011 turned over the equivalent of £63m.
