Police have confirmed the identity of the man whose body was found by specialist search volunteers in an Edinburgh loch at the weekend.

Borders Underwater Search Unit members located the body of 24-year-old Sanjay Dhital of Edinburgh in St Margaret’s Loch in Holyrood Park on Sunday.

Volunteers from the Border Search and Rescue Unit and Tweed Valley Mountain rescue Team joined the operation to find Mr Dhital, who had been missing since Boxing Day.

Lothian and Borders Police said: “There are no suspicious circumstances and a report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.”
