Two walkers were airlifted from mountains in separate incidents.
An injured walker was flown to hospital by a Sea King helicopter from RAF Lossiemouth after slipping while coming down from Ben Nevis and suffering injuries yesterday.
Members of the Lochaber Mountain Rescue Team were flown to the site in the Red Burn area at 5pm and the injured walker was treated at the scene before being airlifted to Belford Hospital in Fort William.
And a cragfast walker was rescued while scrambling on Glyder Fawr in Snowdonia.
The man, described by rescuers as well equipped, called for helps when he was unable to go either up or down on the mountain’s cliffs.
Two hill parties from the Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue Organisation went to the man’s aid at 12.45pm today but when they arrived at the scene the walker was stuck on a ledge on steeper ground than anticipated.
Rescuers requested the assistance of a Sea King helicopter from RAF Valley and the man was winched from the crags and flown to the rescue base in the Ogwen Valley.
The aircraft returned and flew the rescuers back to their base.
