Organisers of a mountain adventure challenge have given a cash boost to help repair paths on the peak where the event took place.
The Artemis Charitable Foundation donated £2,000 to the National Trust for Scotland for work on the Ben Lawers national nature reserve, which it owns.
The trust ran the Great Kindrochit Quadrathlon at the Perthshire nature reserve in July, during which participants had to walk or run up seven munros in the Ben Lawers range, swim and kayak on Loch Tay and cycle round it.
Two hundred athletes took part in the event.
The cash will help the charity’s footpath repair team carry out regular maintenance and repairs on the range, one of the most popular for walkers in Scotland.
Property manager Helen Cole said: “This donation from the Artemis Foundation is very welcome and will be put to good use, ensuring that the well worn footpaths on the nature reserve are properly maintained.
“Good footpath management helps preserve the delicate alpine environment that Ben Lawers is so well known for, so that it can be enjoyed by visitors, whether walking or running, for years to come.”
The National Trust for Scotland maintains 634km (394 miles) of mountain paths on its mountain estates, including Ben Lawers, Ben Lomond, Mar Lodge Estate, Glencoe, Kintail and on Arran.
