Five grough readers have won their very own copy of Pathways, the lavish illustrated book tracing the history of Britain’s rights of way.

The book, written by footpath fanatics Nicholas Rudd-Jones and David Stewart, is a collection of 20 walks along ways ranging from Roman roads to modern pedestrian precincts.

The following competition entrants were chosen at random from all those who correctly answered our question of the name of the walker’s four-legged companion Brough and will receive a copy of Pathways worth £20.

Pathways can be still be ordered from the Guardian Bookshop online at a discount price of £14.
