The path on Force Gill Ridge, on the flank of Whernside

A walker was airlifted from one of Yorkshire’s Three Peaks after slipping and breaking her wrist.

The 65-year-old fell off the path at Force Gill Ridge on Whernside on Tuesday.

Members of the Cave Rescue Organisation were alerted about noon and went to the walker’s aid.

After paramedics treated the injured woman, she was helped to an air ambulance and flown from the hill.

The rescue was the team’s 51st of the year, both on the fells of the Yorkshire Dales and in the caves below them.
