Berghaus is aiming high with the latest additions to its footwear range.
Top of the new releases are the Tarazed Leather GTX and the Tarazed GTX boots aimed at walkers on tough terrain.
The company has teamed up with sole manufacturers Vibram for what it claims is top comfort but with surefootedness on high-level routes.
Berghaus says of the 3/4 season offerings: “The Tarazed boots offer an optimum combination of great underfoot grip and comfort, making these boots a great companion on challenging terrain.
“A high performance Berghaus Opti-Stud design has been combined with the technical compounding expertise of Vibram, resulting in a stunning sole unit that provides ultimate performance for summer alpine walking that will carry through to autumn/winter for lower level winter routes.”
The Tarazed Leather GTX has a suggested selling price of £160 and the Tarazed GTX, which features nubuck, mesh and rubber, is priced at £140.
Both feature Gore-Tex membranes.
Berghaus has also added two models of approach shoe, one with Gore-Tex waterproofing and one without.
The Prognosis and Prognosis GTX, the latter with the Gore-Tex membrane, are aimed at a range of outdoor activities, from lightweight trail walking to crag approaches.
The manufacturers say: “The Prognosis GTX has a Gore-Tex extended comfort lining which is durably waterproof and breathable with low insulation, keeping feet comfortable, cool and dry in warmer conditions and during higher physical activity levels.
“Both the Prognosis and the Prognosis GTX sit on a lightweight trail walking Vibram sole unit providing great grip on difficult terrain.”
Suggested price for the Prognosis is £75 and for the GTX version £90.
