Police and mountain rescue teams are searching for a paddler who is missing in Glencoe.

Members of Glencoe Mountain Rescue Team have joined Coastguard volunteers and officers from Northern Constabulary in the search for the woman who was kayaking with a party on the River Coe when she capsized.

A Sea King helicopter from HMS Gannet, Prestwick, has joined the search. Police were alerted at 9am this morning.

A spokesperson for Northern Constabulary said the search operation was being conducted at five points between the Clachaig Inn and Glencoe village, at the western end of the glen.

No details of the kayaker have been released by police.
