Fellrunning fans can hear about a living legend next month when author Keith Richardson delivers a lecture on Lakeland runner Jos Naylor.

The 74-year-old former Wasdale sheep farmer set a then record for summiting 72 peaks and running 160km (100 miles) in less than 24 hours in 1975. He also ran the complete 429km (267-mile) length of the Pennine Way, in a little over three days.

Keith Richardson’s biography of the runner, Joss, follows his Lakeland Book of the Year Award last year for Ivver Sen.

His talk, at the Theatre by the Lake, Keswick, will be illustrated by photographs by Val Corbett and will be an examination of the life and times of what he calls ‘one of the Lake District’s most celebrated characters’.

The event talks place on Friday 12 March. Details are on the Theatre on the Lake website.
