Police today confirmed that the body found near the West Highland Way last month is that of missing walker Adrian Park.
Mr Park was reported missing on Saturday 21 March and his disappearance sparked a major search by Lomond and Ochils Mountain Rescue Teams and police search units with dogs, aided by a Royal Navy helicopter. The body of Mr Park, 48, of Blanefield, was found near Balaggan House, Strathblane, less than 2km (1¼ miles) from his home.
Posters detailing the keen walker were distributed along the West Highland Way, which runs past his home, and in the Spean Bridge area, which he was known to frequent.
A spokesperson for Central Scotland Police said: “His family have been informed. The media and members of the public are thanked for their assistance.”
