A search by two Lake District mountain rescue teams was called off when an overdue walker was found safe and well.
The 72-year-old man had gone walking around Angle Tarn above Patterdale and was reported missing to the police two hours after he was due to return to his car. He was reported overdue about 7.30pm yesterday, Friday.
Twelve members of the Patterdale team were joined by five from Penrith MRT. As the rescuers started their search, the walker, from Flintshire, was found returning to his car, uninjured.
