A fellwalker had to be led to safety by rescuers after getting lost in the dark.
The 53-year-old man from the Manchester area was found by members of the Cockermouth Mountain Rescue Team (MRT) after a search of the High Crag area overlooking Buttermere.

The walker, who was alone, rang 999 from a mobile phone after becoming disoriented. A team of 24 mounted a search and found the man yesterday evening. He was then walked down to Black Sail Youth Hostel at the head of Ennerdale.
- Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team was called out twice in two hours on Friday.
A 55-year-old woman suffered a broken ankle after a fall in Deepdale. The walker, from Teesside was with her husband. She was stretchered from the scene by members of the team.
While dealing with the incident, the team was called to help a walker in difficulties on St Sunday Crag. He was helped to safety after battling gale-force winds. Penrith MRT helped in the operation.
