A man died after a fall on a Scottish Munro yesterday.
He slipped while walking with a group of friends on Beinn Sgritheall, overlooking Loch Hourn and Arnisdale.
Police received a call about 4pm yesterday and rescuers from Glenelg and Kintail Mountain Rescue Teams went to his aid. An RAF helicopter airlifted the 55-year-old Aberdonian to Belford Hospital in Fort William, but he was confirmed dead on his arrival.
The 974m (3,196ft) Beinn Sgritheall is in an isolated position north of the Knoydart peninsula. It has three tops on its summit ridge, with steep drops on its southern flanks.
