The promised makeover of the British Mountaineering Council's website has taken place, giving the venerable old edifice a lick of paint and a more modern look.
Navigation is a little easier and there is an increase in the use of graphics and photographs. You'll still be able to find your favourites, from equipment advice to upcoming events.

One promised innovation is a members' area, which is not yet operational but will, in future, enable members to book BMC events online and download publications.
The new website also includes a link to the regional access database, which enables climbers to check out the restrictions in force at crags throughout the country, including links to the most recent updates and most popular sites. So there should be no excuse for a repeat of the Avon brigade's disturbance of the gorge peregrines.
