Councillors in South Armagh say the bodies of dead animals dumped at a beauty spot pose a hazard to health.
The carcasses of sheep and cows were illegally left in the Slieve Gullion area and risk contaminating streams and farms in the district. The councillors say environmental health officers should remove the remains immediately.
The animal carcasses have been found on the slopes of Slieve Gullion, around the Ballintemple forest. Slieve Gullion’s summit is the site of two megalithic cairns and is a Special Area of Conservation.
