A walker died in the Lake District at the weekend, after collapsing on a fell near Coniston.
The unnamed man, from Grasmere, was pronounced dead by a doctor from the North West Air Ambulance service which was called to Holme Fell, where the man had fallen to the ground complaining of chest pains.
11 members of the Coniston Mountain Rescue Team also attended the scene early on Saturday afternoon. A post-mortem examination of the man, who was on the fell with a group, was expected to take place this week to determine the cause of death.
