The Cairngorms corrie that was the site of five fatalities a few months ago has seen another mountaineer injured this week.
An unnamed 38-year-old woman received serious head injuries in an incident in Coire an t-Sneachda yesterday.
She was airlifted from the peak, in the Northern Corries of Cairn Gorm, by a helicopter from RAF Lossiemouth and taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness, where she is being treated.
Police have not released details of the woman nor her condition. Five climbers died within two months this winter, prompting the Mountaineering Council of Scotland and the British Mountaineering Council to issue safety advice to mountaineers during what has been a warmer and leaner winter climbing season than Scotland has seen for some years.
