Armchair adventurers can thrill to more than 60 films this weekend.
The Sheffield Adventure Film Festival – ShAFF – starts on Friday and includes world premieres among its selection of celluloid gems. Andy Kirkpatrick and Niall Grimes will be presenting the films, covering activities as diverse as parkour and kayak rolling.
There are also plenty of offerings featuring climbing, snowboarding, free diving, mountain biking and the adventures of Biskit, the climbing dog. Joe Simpson, of Touching the Void fame, is the festival’s patron.
The event takes place at the Showroom Cinema in Sheffield, from 23 to 25 March. There will also be an urban orienteering event centred on the Showroom, as well as live music and a party at the Workstation.
Details of the event, with synopses of the films can be seen on the ShAFF website.
