A police officer has told a London jury how he watched five men accused of a failed bomb attack on a campsite in the Lake District.
The officer said he saw the group apparently praying together in a semicircle. They then took part in some sort of organised running practice.

Ramzi Mohammed, Muktar Said Ibrahim, Yassin Omar, Hussein Osman and Adel Yahya were photographed by police during the May Day bank holiday weekend in 2004. The jury saw pictures of the men lined up in casual clothes.
Giving evidence for the prosecution at Woolwich Crown Court, the police officer said: “They did not appear to be running randomly. It appeared as though there was a series of men in a line running up and down.”

ce took place as the group camped on a farm between Walthwaite and Baysbrown, near Chapel Stile in Great Langdale. The officer said Mohammed, dressed in green camouflage trousers, had his hands folded across his chest and his head slightly bowed in the prayer line.

Other pictures showed five of the defendants carrying large rucksacks and pointed, fold-up shovels.
The alleged bomb attacks took place nearly 15 months later on July 21, 2005. A fifth man, Manfo Kwaku Asiedu, is also alleged to have taken part in the attempt to kill and maim travellers on London’s transport system.
All six deny charges of conspiracy to murder between January 2005 and July, 2005 and conspiracy to cause explosions between the same dates.
The trial continues.
